How Thailand 90-Day Reporting Works

1

Who must file a TM47 report?

Any foreigner holding a non-immigrant visa (Non-O, Non-B, Non-OA, DTV, LTR, ED visa, and most other long-stay categories) who remains in Thailand for 90 consecutive days or more must notify immigration of their current address. Short-stay tourist visa holders and 30-day exemption visitors are not required to report.

2

The 90-day clock and re-entry resets

Your clock starts from your most recent entry into Thailand or your most recent TM47 report — whichever is more recent. Every time you leave and re-enter Thailand, the clock resets from your new arrival date. Frequent travellers who leave Thailand every 2–3 months may never reach 90 days and never need to file.

3

Filing methods: online, in person, or by mail

You can file online via tm47.immigration.go.th (available from day 15 of your cycle onwards), in person at your nearest immigration office during business hours, or by registered mail. The online system is known to be unreliable — always have an in-person backup plan. First-time filers generally cannot use the online portal.

4

What happens if you file late?

Filing after day 90 results in an automatic ฿2,000 fine, payable in person at the immigration office. There is no online payment option for the fine. Persistent failure to report can result in more serious immigration consequences. If you realise you are late, file as soon as possible — do not simply ignore it.

About This 90-Day Reporting Deadline Calculator

This free tool helps foreigners living in Thailand on long-stay visas calculate their next TM47 90-day reporting deadline. The Thai Immigration Bureau requires all non-immigrant visa holders who remain in Thailand for 90 or more consecutive days to notify their local immigration office of their current address. Failure to file results in a ฿2,000 fine.

The calculator accounts for the core rule: your 90-day clock runs from your most recent entry into Thailand or your most recent TM47 report — whichever was more recent. It also identifies your online filing window (available from approximately day 15 of your cycle) and flags urgent, upcoming, and overdue status with clear visual indicators.
